Our History

Anthony Byrne Fine Wines was established in 1976 by Anthony and Rae Byrne to supply the United Kingdom market with high quality domaine-bottled growers wine from France and other vineyards in Europe. Expansion into New World areas started in the mid 1980s.

The 1990's

During the second decade the company continued to expand its range of agencies, servicing more hotel groups and independent restaurants and hotels, and now represents some of the leading award wine producers in the world.

The 1980's

By the end of the first decade, Anthony Byrne Fine Wines had developed a broad portfolio and a reputation for introducing French Domaine growers direct to the UK market, which was unusual in the context of the negociant-dominated French export trade of the time. This, coupled with innovative service and the resulting client base expansion, enabled Anthony Byrne Fine Wines to expand into both the hotel group and multiple specialist sectors for the first time.
